Message from the Head of Foundation
December 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we wind down for the end of the autumn term, I’ve been reflecting on the experiences and achievements that have shaped the last few months. It has been a busy and rewarding period for both our students and staff, and while we are all looking forward to a well-deserved break, the energy across the school has been fantastic.
Since the start of the academic year in September, we have been pleased to see how well our newest students have settled into life at Omnia. They have quickly become part of the community, joining in with a wide range of enrichment activities both on and off-site. These experiences are so important for exploring new interests and building confidence, and we’re proud of the enthusiasm everyone has brought to the table.
The term has been full of standout moments, starting with our Halloween celebrations in October. We wrapped up that first half-term with a day of outdoor games, pumpkin carving, and a bit of flour-related chaos that the students thoroughly enjoyed. We also returned to Scott’s Pumpkin Barn for the second year in a row, where students picked out their own pumpkins to take home – it was a great day with a lovely atmosphere all around.
December has been just as lively. Our Christmas lunch on Wednesday, 10th December, was a real highlight, and it has been great to see so much seasonal creativity lately, especially with the gingerbread house building. We also welcomed Mike from Science Horizons back for our half-termly Science Week, which provided some brilliant hands-on learning around circuits and electricity. To finish the year on a high, the final week has been packed with off-site trips, and every student is heading home with a 3D-printed gift made here at school.
As we head into the holiday, I want to thank you all for your continued support. We look forward to seeing the students back on Wednesday, 7th January. Before they return, our hub staff will be spending a transition day on the 6th January, checking in with students at home to make sure everyone feels ready and supported for the move back into school life.
I wish you all a restful and joyful holiday season.
Warm regards,
Luke
