Understanding Post-16 Pathways at Omnia Foundation

At Omnia Foundation, our aim is to help every student move confidently into life after Year 11. As an SEN independent special school, we recognise that traditional GCSE pathways are not always the best fit. Instead, students work towards vocational Entry Level qualifications.

Entry Level qualifications:

  • Entry Level, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 vocational qualifications
  • Level 1 and Level 2 are pre-GCSE qualifications
  • These qualifications help students build skills, confidence, and direction for future learning

To support further progression, all students can take a Foundation Year at college after leaving Omnia Foundation. This year allows them to gain any relevant GCSEs or equivalent qualifications needed for apprenticeships, higher-level courses, or specific career pathways.

We also take part in the Gatsby Benchmarks to ensure students receive high-quality careers guidance, real-world experiences, and personalised planning for their next steps.

Students’ achievements are recognised through the AQA Unit Award Scheme, where each completed unit earns a certificate. This builds a personal portfolio celebrating progress, effort, and skills—supporting applications for college, training, or future employment.

The work and dedication of the staff at Omnia have for SEN children is incredible. I honestly never imagined my child, after Year 11, would attend a mainstream college and enjoy it. I cannot tell you enough how you changed my son’s life and gave him his spark back. I will be eternally grateful.
