“The support my son receives on a daily basis at Omnia Foundation has made such a huge difference not only to his learning but also to his confidence and his self-esteem.”
– Parent to Omnia Foundation Student
All pupils are offered access to vocational experiences such as bricklaying, plumbing, mechanics, hairdressing, and animal care through external providers. These sessions are fully managed by Omnia, with a member of staff available to support students as needed.
Students are set termly targets known as Personal Learning Intentions (PLIs). These are derived from each pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and are developed by the Hub Team. Targets are reviewed each term by the Senior Leadership Team and the Hub Team, and are adapted or updated as appropriate.
Preparing students for their next steps post-16 is central to our mission. Our Future Possibilities Coordinator works closely with learners, families, and the Local Authority to ensure each pupil receives the guidance and support they need to transition successfully into further education, training, or employment. Work experience is encouraged for all pupils, and staff work collaboratively with learners to secure suitable placements. Recent placements have included a bike shop, a charity shop, and community projects with Trust Links.
Year 11 pupils also have the opportunity to undertake weekly driving lessons, helping them develop confidence and independence.
Our staff team is fundamental to everything we do. We work in small hubs, each consisting of five pupils supported by a teacher, a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, and an Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator. Pupils can also access weekly support from our specialist Thrive Practitioner, Counsellor, Outdoor Learning Coordinator, and Physical Education Lead for 1:1 physical development sessions.
Our enrichment programme is designed around students’ needs and interests. Examples of enrichment activities at Omnia include trampolining, music lessons, fishing, golf, photography, gaming, and other activities driven by student choice.
